Who Am  I?

My name is Debbie Viengkham, and I’m a psychologist based in Western Sydney. I provide therapy and support to help individuals manage their mental health and overall wellbeing.

My interest in psychology began with a desire to better understand people—how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. I'm deeply passionate about exploring human behaviour, the motivations behind our actions, and the factors that shape our decisions, both consciously and unconsciously. I'm particularly intrigued by how our environment interacts with our unique perspectives, shaping the way each of us experiences the world.

In my practice, I primarily draw upon schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am especially interested in how core beliefs and schemas can influence our daily choices, sometimes in ways that aren't helpful. By increasing awareness of these beliefs, we can make more intentional decisions, begin to shift long-standing patterns, and create space for healing. I also value the flexibility and compassion of ACT, which offers practical tools that can benefit all aspects of life—from relationships and work to personal growth. To provide a personalised approach, I integrate techniques from various therapeutic modalities to meet your individual needs.

Above all, I believe in the importance of having a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, honest, and transparent—where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore what matters most to you.
